I am looking for work

Background

After graduating from college, I started helping people write research papers, whether it was doing the data analysis, writing the drafts, or communicating with peer reviewers. I did this for three years, from 2023-2025. I stopped doing this after a change in circumstances and motivation; I no longer wanted to go to graduate school or become an academic. I would prefer to work in the private sector.

I was hired this year to write a website for some vacation homes, which was completed several weeks ago. I had no prior experience in this field. I would prefer not to post it due to concerns about privacy; I am related to the employer.

I have been blogging as a hobby ever since I was in college, and have been doing so for about 4 years. I’ve written about many topics: psychology, education, genetics, intelligence research, philosophy, and medicine.

The best work I have done is my meta-analysis of 1517 correlations between family members in phenotypes, all of which I collected by hand. I also wrote a followup post on the nature-nurtue debate: arguing that it’s essentially impossible to make an unbiased estimate of heritability, but that the bulk of evidence suggests that twin studies generally make for acceptable estimates of the true heritability of traits.

My greatest strength is the ability to do work that other people do not want to do because it is tedious or uncomfortable. I can also learn how to do things on my own.

Experience

Currently, I have a Bachelors in statistics, 3 years of experience in technical writing/data analysis, and 6 months of experience in website development.

I am most skilled at data analytics: data preprocessing, analysis, visualisation, reporting, and interpretation. I can also write and code.
